World Hunger Relief Week 8 - 16 November 2009 World Hunger Relief Week aims to raise funds and awareness about the ongoing issue of hunger world-wide. KFC and Pizza Hut stores nationally are supporting the 2009 program and aim to raise one million dollars for the World Food Program (WFP), the world’s largest humanitarian agency, fighting hunger worldwide. KFC and Pizza Hut have been involved with the program since 2007 and last year raised $950,000 which was used to feed people in the Philippines and Laos. Customer are encouraged to get involved by making a gold coin donation or purchasing frisbees, wristbands and pens in-store or showing their support online by donating via the global campaign website www.fromhungertohope.com Most of the money raised in 2009 will go to feed people in the Philippines and Laos.
